Top Car Color Trends for 2020

With another decade in the rear-view mirror, many car aficionados are looking ahead to 2020. Along with advancements in performance and safety, many strides have also been made in terms of car colors.

While your vehicle’s paint job might not seem like a huge consideration when it comes to driver satisfaction, certain car colors do make an impact. This is especially true of the following colors, which provide a taste of what the future holds for automotive paint.

Pastel shades might seem out of place on an automobile, but iconic automaker Rolls-Royce changed all that with the introduction of their Pastel Collection. As a throw-back to the neon stylings of the 80s, pastel pinks, yellows, and blues offer a sophisticated yet eye-catching look. Even if you can’t afford a Rolls-Royce, you can still get a custom paint job inspired by this gorgeous collection.

Gold Chrome

In keeping with colors that are intended to turn heads, gold vinyl applications can turn any vehicle into a rolling work of art. For example, Honda made a splash last year wrapping their Civic Type R and NSX in stunning gold chrome. This is a great choice for car owners who want to be recognized wherever they go.

Bright Green

While we’re still sadly without flying cars, cyber-punk aesthetics are certainly at home within this new decade. Bright green shades, such as Audi’s TT RS in Kyalami Green, are making an impact in the automotive world. This is just one of many futuristic shades currently on the rise, including oranges, purples, and blues.

Mint Green

Of course, some people prefer subtler, yet still compelling shades. The 2019 Ford Fiesta in Bohai Bay Mint is a low-key color that wouldn’t look out of place rolling along the shore in some sea swept destination. Of course, mint green looks just as great rolling along city streets at night, which is why these shades are projected to really catch on in the coming year.

Stainless Steel

In keeping with futuristic themes, the innovators at Tesla have done it again. The company’s straight from the future Cybertruck is jarring from a design perspective. It’s sharp angles and boxy frame are only amplified by the dramatic stainless-steel paint job. The combined aesthetic is more like a futuristic military vehicle than sports car, but the company says that the Cybertruck couples utility and performance for something truly unique.
